GDPR Compliance
Our commitment to the EU General Data Protection Regulation. Last updated: July 2026.
Our commitment
Volt Technology is built in Europe and designed around the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). This page explains our approach to data protection and how you can exercise your rights.
1. Controller and processor roles
- For personal data of visitors to this website, Volt Technology is the data controller.
- For personal data processed inside our software on behalf of our business clients, Volt Technology acts as a data processor and the client is the controller. This is governed by a Data Processing Agreement.
2. Data Processing Agreement (DPA)
We provide a DPA to all clients, setting out the subject matter, duration, nature and purpose of processing, the types of data and categories of data subjects, and the obligations of both parties under Article 28 GDPR. Contact us to request it.
3. Principles we follow
Lawfulness, fairness and transparency; purpose limitation; data minimisation; accuracy; storage limitation; integrity and confidentiality; and accountability.
4. Your rights as a data subject
- Access to your data and information about how it is processed.
- Rectification of inaccurate data and erasure ("right to be forgotten").
- Restriction of, or objection to, processing.
- Data portability.
We do not carry out automated decision-making that produces legal effects.
5. Security measures
We apply appropriate technical and organisational measures, including EU-based hosting, encryption in transit, access controls, role-based permissions, and regular review.
6. Sub-processors
Where we use sub-processors (for example hosting, email, or payment infrastructure), we ensure they provide equivalent GDPR guarantees under written agreements.
7. International transfers
Data is stored within the EU/EEA. Any necessary transfer outside relies on Standard Contractual Clauses or an adequacy decision.
8. Data breaches
In the event of a personal data breach, we notify the relevant supervisory authority and any affected parties without undue delay, within the timeframes required by the GDPR.
9. Exercising your rights
Email info@volt-technology.eu and we will respond within one month. You may also contact your national data protection supervisory authority.
